Background in computer science. Started in the telecom industry with AT&T Bell labs USA. Moved to a startup company Tellium that went public on Nasdaq (2001). Returned to Europe in 2002. as professor at UGent. Managed the iMinds iStart fund till 2017. At EIT InnoEnergy since 2017
