Ed Lazowska is a Professor, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Chair Emeritus, in the University of Washington's Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science & Engineering. He is a Member of the National Academy of Engineering, and was the Founding Director of UW's eScience Institute.
