Rita Ko is the Director of The Hive, an innovation lab at USA for UNHCR (United Nations Refugee Agency). Recognized as one of the Most Innovative Not-for-profits in the World by Fast Company in 2017 and as a 2019 Association of National Advertisers (ANA) Genius in ‘Data Analytics and Adoption’, The Hive applies data science and machine learning to build awareness and support for refugees in the United States, and is recognized as a pioneer in the global non-profit space. In 2019, Rita was selected for the distinguished 92Y WomeninPower fellowship, and received industry recognition in 2017, named as one of the top 10 professionals under 35 in social impact on the LinkedIn Next Wave List. Previously, Rita worked at the Vancouver Mayor’s Office as Former Mayor Gregor Robertson’s Director of Operations for three consecutive terms. She holds a BA in Economics from the University of Toronto and MBA from Cornell University.
